Thinking Garbage by Nancy Atakan
A fleeting image of daily life reflects upon the urban backdrop of consumption and waste. Footage of well-groomed people going about their daily business is paired with a speech that discusses the production of garbage in the context of social justice. A second voice ponders the anonymity of contemporary urban life and the alienation that separates us from our own waste. One begins to see this sense of alienation on the faces of the city-dwellers caught momentarily on video.
