Dmitry (Dima) Strakovsky
Strakovsky was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and lives in Lexington, Kentucky. He received an MFA in Art and Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He teaches at the University of Kentucky (Lexington) as an Assistant Professor of Intermedia. Dima's work spans a variety of media: robotic/kinetic installation, sound art, video, performance and digital prints. He often works together with other cultural producers on a variety of collaborative projects. Dima participated in exhibitions at a number of venues on both national and international levels: J2 Gallery (Tokyo), Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), Siggraph 2001 (San Antonio) among others.
